Pictures from Beach Bash, 2002

First off, my Beach Bash story. I stumbled across information about Beach Bash early in 2002 while looking at a Dale Earnhardt, Jr. fan website. This site led me on a search, and I found Kathie at eTravelaway.com. Long story short, Kathie is just amazing, and I'm so blessed to have found my long-lost twin sister, some 31 years into the journey! :-). Kathie got me hooked up with a roommate (Kim) and kept me updated on the progress of drivers signing contracts and the like. The day the Jr. signed his contract, I faxed my credit card authorization!

As most of you know, I work for a video game company (Go Infogrames!), and one of our products in a NASCAR game. The brand new version, Dirt to Daytona, came out on November 12, and I headed off to Beach Bash on the 17th. We got the brilliant idea that I would bring some game systems, copies of games and other goodies with me on vacation to entertain the fans and drivers. Again, Kathie was my key to this whole thing - she got me in touch with the right people and supported me every step of the way.

Armed with a bunch of video games, some t-shirts and a killer ice-breaker line ("Hi, I'm Tanya - have I met you yet?"), I set off to the Wyndham Rose Hall in Montego Bay for an amazing week. I met so many nice people, met all the drivers, and made some other awesome contacts with a variety of people. Oh yeah, and I danced with Dale Earnhardt, Jr.! Be still my heart! Long story short, I'm counting the days till next year (the date's not set yet, so I can't setup a timer).

I have affectionately dubbed this "grass skirt man", but according to Kathie, his name is Jimmy. Jimmy it is! He was dancing in the Cricket club on Sunday night, and was quite entertaining!

Baby Chloe brought loads of enterainment to us all. She was such a good natured baby - 10 months old and she's been to more countries than I have!

Larry was ALSO one of the nicest guys there, and he gave me one of my favorite Beach Bash memories - playing NASCAR Dirt to Daytona in our PJ's at the Pajama Party Tuesday night. For the record, he kicked my butt at the game, but Josh Richeson gave me some good advice that allowed me to not finish dead last next time I played!

Me and Ron Hornaday (Busch series driver). Ron was the life of many, many parties! Ron also advised me that I'm easier to understand when I've been drinking, as I talk a little slower then. What can I say? I got flustered!
